Shaping Futures, Together
Welcome to Watertown Public Schools

At Watertown Public Schools, we deliver innovative, top-tier instruction wrapped in a supportive community where All Means All—ensuring every student, in every classroom, is safe, known, and fully prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Because here, every moment matters.

  • In the event of an absence, parents and guardians should notify the school of a student's absence by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. Absences may be reported by completing the school's online attendance form or by emailing the attendance secretary, Andrea Butwell, at butwellan@watertownps.org. When reporting an absence, please include the student's name, grade, reason for the absence, and, if known, the anticipated date of return. In the near future you will be able to send absence information through ParentSquare.

  • No more guessing games. Access our 2026-2027 district calendar to view school holidays, early dismissal dates, and parent-teacher conferences!

  • Get fast answers without the runaround. Visit our Transportation page for live bus routes and schedules, or head to the Food Services portal to view daily menus and instantly add funds to your child’s meal account.

  • Students staying after school for a club must complete this form for attendance purposes.

  • Education goes beyond academics; your child must feel safe to learn. Every Watertown school features dedicated guidance counselors and social workers who provide proactive emotional support, making sure no student falls through the cracks.

Watertown’s School Climate Policy is in compliance with Connecticut’s School Climate Policy and Restorative Practices Response Policy, as mandated by Conn. Gen. Stat. §10?222aa et seq (effective July 1, 2025).

Swift Middle School’s School Climate Improvement Plan

  • To bridge the digital gap, we provide every student with a personal, district-issued digital device. This 1:1 technology initiative ensures your child has equal access to all innovative learning tools, both in the classroom and at home.

  • We can’t do this alone, and your voice matters! You can easily plug into our community by joining your school’s PTSO. The Swift PTSO is a Parent-Teacher-Student Organization supporting our school community through events, fundraising, and volunteering.

Connect with us on Facebook to get PTSO and school updates.

    Why Join?

    • Support school programs and activities

    • Connect with parents, teachers, and students

    • Students with involved parents are 30% more likely to earn higher grades

    • Schools with active parent organizations see a 15% reduction in behavioral problems

If you don't want to join the PTSO but would still like to be involved, make sure you follow us on Facebook.  We post volunteer opportunities and various fundraisers you can support.  In lieu of fundraiser participation, you can also send donations via Venmo (@swiftptso) and CashApp ($SwiftPTSO).
