COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
The Swift Middle School Counseling Department is here to support students' academic, social, emotional, and personal growth throughout their middle school years. Our team works collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and other school staff to help students feel supported, connected, and successful at school.
The Counseling Department includes school counselors, school social workers, and school psychologists who provide support based on each student's individual needs. Services may include individual and group support, academic and behavioral interventions, social-emotional skill development, consultation with families and staff, crisis support, and connections to school and community resources.
We encourage families to reach out to a member of the Counseling Department with questions or concerns about their child’s school experience.

School psychologists support students across all grade levels, primarily working with students whose Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) include counseling services. They provide support related to students’ social-emotional functioning, behavior, and learning needs and collaborate with families, teachers, and other school professionals to promote student success.
School psychologists also conduct evaluations as part of the special education process and participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings to help identify students’ strengths and areas of need.
If your child’s IEP includes counseling services, the school psychologist can be a helpful point of contact for questions or concerns related to your child’s social-emotional well-being, behavior, learning, or school functioning.
